About Standin

We do the work,
or we teach your team to.

Standin is for established businesses that know AI matters and are tired of hearing about it. No dashboard to learn, no discovery deck, no pilot that quietly dies in the third quarter. We manage recurring work, train teams, and fix the website or accessibility problem with evidence you can point to.

Standin started with work I did not want to do myself. Between my job and the subcontracting I took on, I was losing hours every week to research, spreadsheets, PDFs, and reports. None of it needed me specifically. It just needed somebody.

So I built a digital employee to handle it. Then I had it watch the website and keep track of the leads coming in.

That is when I started thinking about the sales jobs I had before this one, and how much follow-up I let slip. Not because I did not know it mattered. Because I was too lazy that day, or too nervous to make the call. Every one of those was a gap a digital employee would have closed without thinking twice about it.

That is the whole reason this company exists. I built what I needed, and then I started noticing how many businesses are running on the same gaps.

The work did not need me. It just needed somebody.

AI should either do useful work or help your people do better work. If it does neither, it is a demo. We do not sell demos.

What we sell

The fit is about the bottleneck,
not the industry.

Standin is a good fit for businesses with real operations, recurring follow-up, and employees who could use AI every week if someone gave them a practical way to do it.

  • Established owner-led businessesReal volume, a small leadership team, and too many loose ends living in inboxes, group texts, calendars, and meetings nobody wrote down.
  • Teams with follow-up painReal estate teams, local service companies, professional services firms, insurance agencies. They feel it fastest, but the industry matters less than the bottleneck.
  • Companies ready to train employeesTeams that want staff using AI without guessing, without pasting client data into whatever tool is open, and without turning every prompt into a science project.
  • Leaders who want clear ownershipSomebody inside the company still has to own the business outcome. We own the AI work. You decide what matters and what has to be approved.

Four rules we do not bend.

  1. 01

    Useful before fancy

We start with whatever already slows the business down: inbox triage, follow-up, calendar coordination, meeting prep, reporting, open loops. If a workflow does not save time or stop something from getting dropped, it does not go first.

  2. 02

    Managed, not self-serve

You are not buying another tool to administer. We install it, connect the approved systems, watch the work, and keep improving it. You should not be the one debugging your own Digital Employee.

  3. 03

    Approval-first by default

It can draft, summarize, organize, and prepare all day. Anything sensitive waits for a human yes, and it keeps waiting until you decide to widen the guardrail. You widen it. Not us.

  4. 04

    No password sharing

Access runs through secure OAuth wherever it is available. You authorize the connection yourself, and you can pull it back the same way. We do not need your passwords to do this work.

Transparent AI operation

Standin uses Digital Employees
inside its own business.

We should be upfront about this. We run Digital Employees inside our own company: onboarding, follow-up, request tracking, research, drafting, operational admin. If we would not put our own business on it, we would have no business selling it to you. It is also part of why the price sits where it does.

A human still owns the relationship, the decisions, and the quality bar. The Digital Employees handle the repeatable middle. Either way, Standin is the one accountable for the result.

A person owns your account
One Standin operator holds the relationship and the quality bar
Digital Employees do the rest
The same way we would run them inside your business
You will know which is which
We tell clients where Digital Employees are involved

Built by an operator,
not a software reseller.

Brennen Mahaffey founded Standin to make AI genuinely useful inside established businesses: managed Digital Employees that do the work, and live training that teaches teams to do it themselves. He designs the service, writes the workshop curriculum, and owns the client operating model.

The company is small on purpose. It is not a branding move. It means the person who scopes your work is the person who stays close to the build, the workshop, and whatever it has turned into six months later.

As Standin grows, Digital Employees will do more of the operational work. That is the model, not a compromise. The promise here was never that a human typed every word. It is that the work is managed, reviewed, and owned by Standin.
